For those of you who are not aware of this, my father suffered severe head injuries late Saturday night when he fell off a golf cart and smacked his head on the track. He fractured his skull in a couple of places and also had some internal bleeding in his head. They performed surgery on him to remove the clot and pressure in his brain. He is currently completely paralyzed through medication so that they can monitor the swelling of his brain. They also found on a later CAT scan that he had another smaller clot lower in his head. The doctors said it was too risky to go in and remove the small one. They said it was better to just monitor it and see if the clot can work itself out. The swelling of the brain has went down. He will be at Thedacare in Neenah for at least two to three weeks. They will continue to monitor him. The doctors said that "The injuries he suffered on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a paper cut and 10 being death that his was an 8." The doctors also said that he was dying on the way to the hospital so it was a good thing that he got there as quickly as possible. I would like to thank everyone who was there helping my dad and my family during this accident. We are very thankful to have had the help. We also appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers that people have given during this time. We will keep everyone up to date on this situation. If anyone has any questions, contact me my cell phone number is 246-1063.

| Another update on my father. His results from the CAT scan this morning came back. They show more swelling on the right side of the brain. If this swelling continues than they may have to do another surgery to remove a bone flap in his head in order to allow the brain more room to swell. This surgery is very dangerous and will only be done as a last resort. The doctor said that the severity of his injuries is up to a 9 out of 10. Right now he is stable and they are just monitoring the swelling. The doctors are monitoring him because the next 3 or 4 days are very critical to determine whether or not the surgery will be required. He will have another CAT scan tomorrow morning. We will let you know the results and keep everyone up to date. Thanks again for everyones thoughts and prayers. |

| TJ, this is obviously shocking news to us that were not still there. Myself and my entire family wish you and yours the very besy of luck in this fight!!!! This is certainly not the way any of us would've liked to see this year end. Just because the season is over doesn't mean your family is alone in this. As I'm sure everyone that reads this will feel the same----if any of us can help in ANY way, please do not be afraid to say so. Do you have a address for cards? |

Thanks for everyone's concern. The address is:
ThedaClark Medical Center 130 Second Street PO Box 2021 Neenah, WI 54957
There hasn't really been any updates. However, I will keep everyone informed if his status were to change. We appreciate all of the offers for help. It goes to show what type of people drag racers are. Thanks to everyone again. |

| This is certainly shocking news, and Tony will be in our prayers. If transportion is needed, we have our own Airplane, and my partner in the plane is a registered "Angel Flight" pilot. There would be No Charge for the Flight, and connections with other "Angel Flight" pilots can be made to go anywhere in the country. Tony Modra Office 262-692-3016 Cell 920-946-3651 |

We tried today to set up a Benefit account at the Riederer's Bank and there were many issues, so we have decided against doing that. We also checked into getting a VISA card that we could add money too for them, and no such luck. The best thing to do, for those who want to send money, is to send it directly to Sandy at the hospital. We also checked into getting gift certificates for the cafeteria and you need to be present to buy them and they are in $7 non-refundable tickets. If anyone has any other thoughts or ideas let us know, racinggirl67@sbcglobal.net. Some people have mentioned a fund raiser and we will let everyone know about that possibility at a later date.

| First of all, the CAT scan came back from today and the results are the same as yesterdays scans. Which means that the scans aren't any better, but thankfully they have not gotten worse. At this time they are continuing to monitor him very closely. He is stable at this time. The stage we are in is waiting for the swelling to decrease. They have increased his medication for the swelling and are now giving it to him every 4 hours versus every 6. Also, we cannot thank everyone enough for the support and comfort they are offering to our family. We want to thank everyone involved. My mother and my family want all of you to know how much you all mean to us and having your support really helps us through this difficult time. We want you to know how much this would mean to our Dad, because being with all of you guys on the weekends racing meant alot to our family and this just shows that the drag racing community at WIR is like one great big Family! It is just amazing the support that you are all showing us. THANKS AGAIN! |

Hello everyone,
I know that a lot of people are very concerned about the Riederer Family, understand the seriousness of the situation, and want to do what they can to help. We came up with an idea. Please keep in mind, this is NOT REQUIRED and nobody will be judged in any way if they decided not to. And it is anonymous.
Any racer who would like to donate their DRIVER POINTS money to the Riederer Family can do so. The more stress we can relieve from the family means more energy they can focus on Tony's recovery.
This donation plan has been approved by Roger. Your contact is Sherry Coffey at 920-858-4282. If you want to donate your points money, simply call her and she will keep track of it. Then, Roger will cut a check to the Riederer Family.
The top 10 are still being confirmed and should be posted very soon. Please call Sherry as soon as possible if you are willing to do this. We are going to try to call all of the top 10 just in case they have not visited the forum. And please, if you talk to any racers, mention it to them just in case they haven't seen this post.
We are donating our points money to the fund. Please join us! --The Emmer Family
P.S. Thank you to everyone who has responded so far for bringing meals to the family. So far, we have meals scheduled for the family through October 19. |

All of our prayers from us at The Race Shop go out to Tony and Family and pray for them the best possible outcome.
While contacting the top 10 points leaders for a donation is one possible idea, I think a better one would be to ask Roger for a mailing list of all the racers. Then put together a post card or email and mail it to all racers describing the situation to allow everyone the opportunity to donate what they feel their heart and finances can support. Nickie and Janal have a good idea in trying to help the family and I know that anyone who can will do all they can to help.
A mailing should include all racers as well as the points leaders. This would allow everyone to participate and use any of the options available, such as the points fund option, or a private donation as they wish .
I'm willing to help if they need. Call me at 920-833-1188.

In addition to those who have finished in the top, if you would like to donate funds, please send your donations to Sherri Coffey, 263 Helen St Kimberly WI 54136 by October 26 to help out with immediate financial needs. If you would like your name added to a card, please make note with your donation, if not that is fine as well. Please note that the Top Ten points donations will be anonoymous. Funds will also be accepted after that date to help with future financial needs. We will be contacting all our racers by mail when fund raising event details have been finalized.
Please notify your friends and family who may not be aware of the Riederer's situation.
