Since we're all tired of the cold already, lets all have some fun and reflect on the 2008 season. I guess the things that had the most effect on things this summer was the incredibly wild weather. Electrical storms, heavy rains causing flooding like I can't fathom on this area. All of these issues caused a great amount of work and stress for the whole staff at the track to have our track ready for the next race. As always, Roger and his staff, along with lots of heavy equipment got things up and running. So for that all of you and I owe Roger, Dan, Randy, and all of the crew a big, "Thank You!" ,for these efforts. Next I'd like to look at the races. It was great season of very competitive races, whether each race event or the points races. In Top Eliminator, Clayt Emmer , came through with his 7.90 second Trick Chassis dragster to hold off Steve Keller. I find it hard to believe Dale didn't have him in a Pontiac, something like a Pro Mod style '63 Tempest. In Hot Rod , Dan Klien, brought out his 9,40 second "Hitman" car and put the "Squeeze" on everyone. Like back in the days of Prohibition, Dan, the Hitman had alcohol which he ran in his car. In Street Eliminator, Dan Goehring had the lead in points all year but still had to survive a runoff with Bob Koehler. Dan always likes to have alittle pressure, I'm not sure about Gerry Sauter... Dan runs his show quality mid 12 second 84 Monte Carlo at the races Saturday nights and then hits the car shows on Sunday. In Motorcycle/Snowmobile Eric Hanson held on over "wiley veteran" Warren Roth. I've gotten to really enjoy watching the bike/snomo class. All the Harley ,Buell teams have really raised the bar with there team uniforms in the pits. They look sharp and Professional. Once again, Great Job to the 2008 Champions!! Something else which is painful to Jim Fanlon, the Fullers', the Riederers',Tanner Zwietow and yours truly, is this is the first time in a long time that an "F" body GM car was not part of one of the Championship winning teams. That's just not right!!! As one final note, maybe we're going to have to have Roger install an SFI approved oil retention device to his Massey track swiper so we don't worry about Roger getting oil under the tires and putin' the tractor in the gaurdrail. I know Roger saw no humor in it at the time, especially the way things were going , but it's funny to think back about it now. LOL Feel free to add your stories too!!! Happy Holidays! Randy and Julie

I think hell just froze over(and i'm not talking about the weather out side). I hear that Mr. Fanlon sold his trusty Camaro and bought a dragster. I think a pro mod Tempest would be cool. I will have to talk to Dad and see what he thinks . |
Who is Mr. Obvious??????? |

| Clayt; I think if your dad had a Pro-Mod Tempest You would never get him out of it. 127 days till openning weekend. So who is ready to go already? Hope to be at the banquet, Nancy has surgery Dec. 31 we will have to see how she feels. She said right now she wants to go. "Burmie" P.S. My foot is doing good 5 days after surgery. |

| a bout 13 years ago I won 2nd round and came back to the pits and my buddy saw some oil comeing from the rear end.so we look and the back of the houseing was crack open. so we jacked the car up and turned the tires by hand.and they never locked up like a rear end all ways does.but i new it was broken.went back out there for 3rd round and did a good burn out and some dry hops.the thing would just not brake.I won that round to.so we cleaned off the oil the best we new how and patch it with some of that cold weld pacth stuff.got some rear end fluid from Larry the parts guy.went back out there for 4th round and lost.maybe it was a good thing.you never now what might have happen at the finish line.I guss you do any thing when your points raceing.I took the rear end a part the next day and 12 out of 32 teeth were broke.what a day i had.but it was fun. |

Top Eliminator was way to much fun this year. every week there was like a new event winner. also it was like a fight just to stay in the top ten and not get bumped out. Also nice job on the $5.00 reaction time contest. I think that I entered that every week I was there. |

i like the whole year in review thing but as usual you guys forgot about the future of our sport... the junior dragsters. and i might be mistaken but i believe we had our youngest track champ ever. jared stellmacher beat ryan seefelt (sorry ryan i had to bring it up) jared is 12 or 13 years old and i dont remember anyone younger then him winning it (if you know of someone let me know) jared had a great season and is very talented for the amount of experience he has. and hes only gonna get better as he gets older. im looking forward to see how all the juniors do next year because there are alot of talented racers in that class that im not looking forward to racing when they get there liscence cause they'll probably kick my ass.
and yes trackrat is was very tough to stay in the top ten in top. unfortunetaly i lost it on the last points race. but just like the cubs fans say... wait till next year |

| For your information, I let him win. just kidding. Jarred is a good driver, knows how to cut his lights and run pretty close to his dial everytime, he deserves this one. But as for next year i dont plan on taking 2nd again, i'd watch it. Its my last year in jr. dragster and i'm going all out!! |
