I don't know if it's ever been brought up but has anybody considered starting on Saturdays earlier in the day so we don't have to deal with the high humidity at night? Say open the gates 2 or 3 hours earlier. Just wondering.

Some of us were just talking about starting earlier. Open the gates at 10, time runs at 11, Race at 2, and done by 8ish. I think Roger would make more money by not turning the lights on or not having them on as long. I also prefer day racing. Others thoughts???

I agree. Usually we "hurry up and wait". By the time we race we've been there most of the day. I like racing more than waiting.

Yeah, there were alot of nights this year when you couldn't even see out of your helmet becuase of the humidity. Day racing is the way to go!!

ya i wouldn't mine starting earlier but it would be also cool if we had rain dates for sundays..like if there was a 80 percent chance of rain for saturday or something where we'll be drying the track on and off all day and instead of trying to wait out the rain, just have the race on sunday instead..idk just a suggestion

Sounds good to me! We're always there on Friday night anyway. It is nice to see some fast runs under the lights though. And what about special events? You'll get way more people to show if you run in the evening.

I wouldn't have a problem with starting earlier for a regular event. I agree with 70Maverick that a later show time for special events would work out better. I'm not opposed to the Sunday rain date either, let the crew stay home if it looks bad and would help those that travel farther to the track, I think they would be more likely to show up on Sunday if the weather looked better rather than taking a chance on Saturday. Whatever happens we will still be there.

During special events - isn't that when you would want to start earlier as there are more cars which usually push times to finish past midnight? Rain date racing sounds like a great idea. How many days did we get bad weather on Saturday only to find a beautiful day on Sunday? As 88 Camaro said, Whatever happens I'll be there. Mopar all the way.

i am all for a earlier start time, better racing in the later rounds, no track issue to deal with. also easier for racers with small kids too.

We're in favor of starting earlier in the day even if they are running a special we could still start earlier and get most of our racing in and then start the show. Great comment Craig...now let's have some more opinions!

Excellent idea...we could be done with 3 or 4 rounds by the time the special event starts. This give people a chance to either come earlier to watch summit racers, or come at 7 and watch the special event.
Craig- Is this topic actually being discussed with Roger?

Nice idea, but what do we do during the half hour to an hour that it takes the pro cars, jets, etc to get ready for their next round?
